AS9100D is the internationally recognized quality management standard specifically developed for the aviation, space, and defense industries. It builds upon the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 while adding additional controls designed to address the unique demands and risks associated with aerospace and defense manufacturing.
The standard places an increased emphasis on areas such as risk management, product safety, configuration management, traceability, supplier control, counterfeit-part prevention, and consistent process control.
For aerospace manufacturers and their supply chains, these requirements are critical. Components must be produced consistently, documentation must be controlled, materials and processes must be traceable, and quality must be built into every step of the manufacturing process.
Achieving AS9100D certification demonstrates that RAM has established and maintains the quality management systems necessary to meet those expectations.
